Design – Landscaping & Key Views

There is a considerable amount of existing vegetation on the site boundary, defined largely by semi-mature trees that help to screen the site from view.   Most of this boundary vegetation will be retained, except where removal is necessary to create the required access points.

To supplement this existing planting, new trees and shrubs will be planted in particular locations across the site so that over time, as this new planting matures, the new building will become less visible from Hoad Way, from the High Street and from Bath Way.  The plan below shows both the retained existing planting as well as the new planting proposed across the site:

The landscaping plan for the development

Based on the plan above, the following computer-generated images have been created, showing how key views of the development would appear one year after completion and fifteen years after completion once the planting has matured:

View from Hoad Way one year after completion (left) and fifteen years after completion (right)

View from High Street one year after completion (left) and fifteen years after completion (right)

View from Woodfield Way / High Street junction one year after completion (left) and fifteen years after completion (right)
